India top pool, qualify for semifinals: FIBA U18 Women’s Asian Basketball

Bengaluru, 30 Oct 2018: India provided exposure to all the players as they defeated lowly Singapore 79-49 in their last Group A match of Division B to remain unbeaten and topped the pool in the FIBA under-18 Women’s Asian Championship at Sree Kanteerava Indoor Stadium here on Tuesday.

Wednesday is a day of Rest.

India along with Syria, who also topped group B with an unbeaten run winning all the three matches have qualified directly for the semifinals while the other two last-four berths will be decided between the four teams who finished second and third in their respective groups on Thursday. The last-placed teams will play for the wooden spoon on Thursday.

The winner of the tournament will be promoted to Division A while the last-placed team from Division A will be demoted to Division B for the 2020 championship.
